Ok, I have a couple questions.First, where exactly are the Yotsuba stories taking place? For the life of me I can't recall if they have made this clear at any point in the stories.Secondly, I am looking for video footage from such a place for a project. I have checked some pretty large stock footage sites for any sort of footage from suburban Tokyo, but have so far come up with very limited choices. Can anyone enlighten me?
Well, it never snows in the comics. Soo, at least I'd say very south of Japan. It doesn't look tropical there. So what destrict of Japan is not very tropical, but never has snow or really cold wheather?
>>110983Snow isn't relevant yet. The storyline has basically taken seven volumes to cover mid-July through the late September.Illustrations done for calendars and such have depicted Yotsuba in winter gear, watching snow outside, etc. It's not unreasonable to assume that she lives in an area that can get some snow. However, I think Azuma-sensei has left it fairly generic on purpose. In the chapter covering the trip to the beach, it takes them a few hours at least to get to the Edaura station, so they're that far from the coast via train, at least. I don't think Edaura actually exists, though. The station was modeled on the Wadaura station in Chiba Prefecture, according to the author's blog. The point is that he's slightly fudging a location name to keep the normal locale generic.

>>110984Yeah I was about to say the same thing about the timeline of the comics so far.
On Mr. Azuma's blog (azumakiyohiko.com) there was an entry some weeks ago (which has since been deleted) saying essentially "I often get asked 'Where does Yotsubato take place?'" and his answer was roughly "Nowhere in particular." Although from photos that I've seen posted around here from time to time, several of the locations are based on real life locations (like the bridge when Yotsuba tries to deliver the milk to Fuuka, or the farm that they went to).
>>110989Thanks, you guys have essentially answered my questions regarding the location. Do any of you happen to know where that bridge is located? Or perhaps have a picture?
>>110998http://azumakiyohiko.com/archives/2007/01/23_1124.phpNo word on its actual location, only that he used to cross it on his way to high school back in the day.
>>110999 Ah, it looks like the old blog entries are still there after all. I don't remember the date of the one I was talking about (where the "Where does Yotsubato take place?" question was mentioned) but if anyone happens to remember the date it was posted, or feels like manually trying all the dates in the address bar, it's probably still there.
