Thought /azu/ might be interested - I've been experimenting with literary creations about Azu. Just looking for appropriate illustrations for each one.

Next one. I'm trying to do one on each of the main members of the cast.

That's a senryu, not a haiku.

5-7-5...?

>> No.113550

>>113547

Depends how strict you are in definition - modern haiku now much looser than just 5-7-5 with a season word.

Anyway, more to come... and thanks for commenting.

From your link: 'Senryu is a similar poetry form that emphasizes humor and human foibles instead of seasons, and which may not have kigo or kireji.'

>> No.113572

Perfectly true, for traditional Japanese use, but read on...

"While traditional hokku/haiku focused on nature and the place of humans in nature, modern haiku poets often consider any subject matter suitable, whether related to nature, an urban setting, or even a technological context."

Also...

"Many writers of modern haiku stay faithful to the standards of old hokuu, however some other contemporary haiku poets have dropped such standards, emphasizing personal freedom and pursuing ongoing exploration in both form and subject matter."

I think it's a matter of personal choice these days, but if you want to be accurate then from the 1st quote I think the definition Haiku does apply to >>113546 after all.

The next one in the series.

I would really have liked a picture of Yomi and Tomo fighting, but couldn't find one. Anyone got anything like that? I could do a repost with a better one.

Still looking for 2 pictures of Mayaa sleeping with Sakaki (lucky little so-and-so!)

This is just a screenshot (and a low res one at that) but you might find it more appropriate.

Cute. :-) It'd be funny (for everyone but Yomi) if the kanji for Tomo's name really did mean "friend." As it happens, the kanji used means "wisdom"...which is also pretty funny (for everyone but Yomi).

>>113628

Indeed. I believe "friend" would be "tomodachi."

友(tomo) means friend, but as Sprocket said, Miss Takino writes her name 智, which means wisdom.

Not /azu/ related, but can fellow anonimy confirm if this qualifies as haiku?

I like these.

But please, please try writing them in something that isn't Comic Sans.

Chiyo's been busy writing again - a little more S & M!

I am assuming, for a story I want to write, that she switches to a University in England. Hence the reference to where the moon is shining.
