I know in some ways this is an old story...but look who's sitting on top of his TV set.

If this is truly an increasing trend, then the time to go to Japan looking for women is now.

If I may quote Yomi in one of Krieg's edits,
"What the fuck is wrong with out lives, Chiyo-chan? What the ranch-style fuck?"

See, I can understand giving up on dating. And women altogether. Heck, I've pretty much done it. Relationships like that can be a waste of time and money if you're able to take it without resorting to "SO RONREY" type extremes.

But this? It's not that "it seems freaky," it IS freaky. You give affection to a lump of silicone and expect it in return.

That may sound hypocritical coming from someone who has called multiple anime females "mai waifu" at some point or another (currently: Haruhi Fujioka), but:
A.) Anime women have preset personalities, even if fictional. You don't "imagine" her responses.
B.) The idea of a life-sized, fully anatomically correct Haruhi doll in my room doesn't turn me on, it makes me want to run away screaming.
C.) Do I seriously even need a C? Fine, how about this: I know these girls are fictional, and while I may joke otherwise, I do not delude myself into thinking that some ink on paper is capable of human emotion nor do I like to pretend that it is.

We all like to get wrapped up in fantasy, but these men seriously need to get some lives.

...Unless the dolls are Chobits. In which case, they can feel emotion and reciprocate it and that's perfectly fine and dandy.

And that is why the creation of Chobits is inevitable. Hell, they'll probably even be called Chobits. The brand recognition with their target market would be worth the trouble of working out something with whoever owns that anime's copyrights.

It's things like this that forces me to agree with Hideaki Anno.

I won't confirm nor deny such beliefs, but it's just hard when one of your heros calls you retarded.

Right side, the last panel says "The switch is down there..."
Left side, Chiyo says "What would you like to do?"
Sakaki says "This screen saver..." and the box reads "Neko Koneko."
Chiyo repeats "What would you like to do?"
And the bottom margin says "To not be continued"

>> No.114909

>>114908 I think there are 4 panels in this set. I'll post if anyone says they'd like (if I can find them).

This guy is kind of a...pioneer, because at present the dolls do come off as, well, dead. But I agree that Japan probably is going to build "responsive," Chobits-esque dolls before too long. Japan already has a gradually declining population, and I doubt you can lay that on the otaku and the fujoshi, because even in Japan they're a minority group. But I guess they're just the most blatant and extreme expression of a larger trend.

More news on the Chobits front. I liked the crack about how lots of people have done it with robots; it's called sex after marriage.

Tabo-san's a cool guy, he's well-known in the sex doll community, he also sells used dolls(the vaginas are removable and aren't included, in case you're wondering) and imports them overseas.

BTW, Chobits is inevitable, look at all the ronery fucks on /a/, and /azu/ isn't that far off either with your obsession with the characters.

I don't mean to start a fight or nothin', but somehow the first phrase doesn't seem to mesh with the second.

>Chobits is inevitable

That's why I can't help but think of the terms 'Floppy'. 'Hard Drive' and 'RAM'.

But you could always resort to buttsecks or backing up her memory before turning her off, turning her on, turning her off...

>>114848

Unless CLAMP kick up a stink about it (the company who'd make potential persocoms would probably strike a deal with the Four Goddesses). Who knows? It could result in a live-action Chobits drama.
