I have to admit that on the whole you're right, but that doesn't mean ALL fan-fiction writers are bad. I enjoy reading quite a few authors, even a few of those who still haven't quite got the hang of using the spellchecker yet, or who were not paying attention during English Grammar 101! We all have our own ideas of what would have happened 'afterwards'. You have yours, I suppose; I have mine, they have theirs. You don't have to read them, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't write them or publish them, no matter how juvenile they are, or how badly their spelling, grammar or even just the basic ideas get up your nose.
Can you do better than the ones you dislike, or is it a general hate for fan-fiction, on principle, so-to-speak?
If you like, you may consider this a challenge. If you don't wish to take it up, for your own reasons, that's OK, but if you do, I'd be genuinly interested to read it.
