The story begins with Kagura and Koiwai being given a high-profile murder case, despite being completely inept. What they don't know is that the chief of police gave them the case because he was involved in the murder, and he figures two lunkheads like them couldn't possibly find a single lead, much less anything leading to him or any of his accomplices.
However through sheer dumb luck they manage to find clue after clue, dodging assassins and carbombs as they get ever closer to unraveling the conspiracy involving the chief, the mayor, and the local yakuza.

The final dramatic scene takes place either in a warehouse, a parking garage, or atop a skyscraper. Koiwai, having eliminated everyone but the yakuza boss (who has been revealed as her biological father in a shocking twist), points her pistol at the boss's head as he holds a knife to a beaten Kagura's throat. Just as he digs the blade in and says he knows she wouldn't kill her own father, she pulls the trigger, shooting him right between the eyes. As he drops to the ground Koiwai lowers her gun and says "My father is a konyakuka."

Also featuring Officer Takino as the cop who at first believes the chief that Kagura and Koiwai are the murderers, but finally realizes the truth and comes to their rescue at a crucial moment. (The audience is made to think she dies in an explosion, but she appears in a hospital bed alongside Kagura's at the end.)

Kagura, Koiwai, Takino, and Mizuhara had cornered some perps in a warehouse and a shootout ensued. One of the criminals climbed into a forklift and tried to run them down, but was shot by Kagura. (She may be stupid but she's a pretty good shot.) The forklift swerved into a huge stack of crates filled with bowling balls, which collapsed on top of Mizuhara.

Miraculously she was unharmed, but she was so rattled by the near-death experience that she forgot to look before crossing the street leaving the station that night and was hit by a car.

What seems to be an unexpected breakthrough in the investigation is made when a petty crook known only as Chihuahua comes forward claiming to have information on who's behind the conspiracy.
Chihuahua is seen here being taken into protective custody by an enthusiastic Officer Takino. (Unfortunately this only puts her within easy reach of those who don't want her to talk.)

I hope it's like one of those 1970s cop series, where a trash can gets knocked over during a chase, and the perp's escape from the alley is blocked by the hood of Yotsuba's car, which Kagura bends him over to put the cuffs on with a "You're nicked, old son!"
