azumanga fanart

Good lord, don't they feed their women in Japan?

>> No.117744

It's nice artwork on itself, but I don't think it's very good as fan art.
It looks like they all have the same face, which only seems remotely in-character for Nyamo and Yomi. They all have the same look in their eyes, rather than Osaka's dreamy stare, Kaorin's nervous glance, Yomi's annoyed scowl, Tomo's playful grin, Yukari's quirky look, or Chiyo's cheerful sparkle. They also have the same nose and mouth. The only way to tell them apart at all seems to be by hairstyle.

And the hairstyles... well, it's hard to tell Tomo, Osaka, and Kagura apart. Now, if we saw beneath the neckline...

(This is not meant as a perverted suggestion, merely a logical process of differentiation.)

Very good, They seem more "mature". I like it, good work.

Might also help if they looked, y'know... Japanese. As-is they looks more like scans from a fashion designer's sketchpad or something. (Not that they're crappily drawn, they just don't look a whole lot like who they're supposed to look like.)

Also is it me, or is Chiyo-chan slightly cross-eyed?

It didn't sound perverted until you said it wasn't supposed to be (before that line, I took it to mean height, posture, taste in clothes, shoes/socks combination, or something similar)...

I can't tell women apart unless they have their pubes shaved into distinctive configurations.

all asians look alike.

>> No.117756

I think OP's pic is great.

But what some have said, the faces looking too similar, is true. Although, this is anime we're talking about, so maybe complaining about faces looking the same isn't the thing to do. As for nitpicking, I think Kaorin's hair looks a little too messy. I thought she was Kagura at first. Osaka's expression should look more dreamy and spacey, and I think her hair is a small bit too long. Chiyo should look more childlike; there's obviously a difference, but not much from the others.

I reemphasise, I'm nitpicking. It's still great.

>> No.117758

As an ARTEEST myself, I'll chip in by saying that the OP is skilled, no question about that, but the drawings themselves have little to no character at all. Just as Fyrius said, a little expression would go a long way in helping identify the characters, I myself couldn't even find Osaka without pondering franctically for about a minute.

I had a Korean exchange student in one of my English classes that looked just like a female Asian Haley Joel Osment.

So basically that means if all Asians look alike, then by extension all Asians look just like Haley Joel Osment.

Makes sense to me.

which one of them is supposed to be kaorin ?

of course the proper way to tell Azugirls apart is by color of their socks and footwear

girl in the middle.

Can only repeat what's been said a few times now: I like the drawing style, but it might as well be the same person wearing different wigs...

At least it's something different.

Also, the necks are very long. Snazzy though, I like the style.
