Ironically, just about everyone likes Osaka. And would like to go out with her. So don't give your "tradesman's entrance" to just the first guy who lends you his shoe, Ayumu-chan. Hue!
I always skip the hentai part in this doujin, and in the Yomi one. They're well-drawn (except for the guy's EYELESS FACE), but the only reason I have them saved is because of the fact they involve the girls having boyfriends.
I like this doujin. From both the emotional & physical pov.
in before everyone else calling the boy protagonist a jerk boohoo

I think it would be fun to date someone like that, but I imagine we would eventually find we have nothing in common.
>>86496I think I'd like her in real life and find that we have quite much in common. I'm equally suspect to daydreaming, love word plays and am disinterested/disappointed by common sense and "practical society". I'm just better adapted to senselessness that world mostly is, and not so slow like her in decision making (but I was like that some years ago). I'd really love to know someone like Osaka with whom you can talk about everything and nothing and not care if it makes much sense to the shadows of people passing by in endless search for something sacred to give the feeling of purpose to their lives.tl;dr - again sorry for long rant. Blame the stimulants I take. Oh, I meant coffee.

I do think that in a real life school Osaka would be made fun of and bullied, particularly if she wasn't lucky enough to find a few more normal friends to make her seem a little more normal (there's a big difference between "weird, but can make friends" and "weird, and can't make any friends").
>>86568 I think Osaka is definitely the "weird but can make friends" type. (Attached is the other kind).

>>86569One of more disturbing things I've seen. I mean, c'mon, what the fuck is whole that manga about and what's going on there? Yet "losing weight" line made me laugh hard. Rolls of toilet paper tend to do that with time..

>>86628That's true, but I enjoy Osaka's twisted ways of thinking and her wordplays amuse me, too. Osaka isn't stupid, from what we see, just seriously distracted from reality. Her capacity for reasoning is high enough, but what she uses that ability for is completely another story. As for the girl from Short Cuts, I'm afraid I am shallow enough that her looks would prevent me from finding out much more about her personality.
>>86628Again, I'm gonna have to cite Mr Zappa here, again on San Ber'dino:"You might think they're dumb and lonely, but you're wrong cuz their love is strong.Stacked up hair and a cheap little ring,They don't care cuz it don't mean a thing,A-look at them a theEEeeeEEEEEMA-they don't CaaAAaAAAAARE!"I'm going to kill it with VC:unuze

>>86652You're right on.
She would most likely annoy the heck out of me. but I guess that's just me
>>86628 Well a real life girl talking to a toilet paper roll would be weird no matter how she looked, but in anime it's cute if the girl is cute. Let's face it, looks make a difference. If a guy gets rejected by a girl but goes to great lengths to win her over, the difference between romantically ambitious and creepy stalker is dependent on how attractive he is. If Richard Gere does it, it's sweet. If the weird guy in math class does it, it's creepy.
>>86693My wife says I'm attractive...
>>86693I was the creepy guy in math class. My affections did not go unreturned, however that only happened after the object of my desire married a six-foot-seven 300-pound bald guy who made bladed weaponry and was very much not me.I tend not to worry too much about looks anyway. There are limits but then again I'm not exactly in a position to be picky.

>>86695someone translate this.
>>86699She's basically wondering about the "cool-looking sensei" and gets the surprise of her life...
>>86693The way a guy tries to win a girl over can make a difference, though. Is it obvious that the guy is approaching the girl as a person, thinking about what she'd like, knowing her personality? Thinking about how he might want to be approached if he were in her position and applying that to what he's doing? Or is he approaching her as some ethereal creature from another plane that will be so dazzled by the depths of his unchanging perfect eternal love for her that she will fall into his arms and they will be in love and married forever and ever?Because that latter vibe is creepy, no matter whom it comes from. Not saying that there aren't girls who'd put up with it because the guy's attractive (or simply happens to be the type of girl that that appeals to), but, y'know, there're also girls who like the weird guy in math class.

>>86713It's weird how the educational part of school is all organized as a thirteen-year plan--what you're supposed to have learned, this week, this month, when you get your standardized exams--but the social part of school is largely left to trial and error and rumor. Imagine having to learn English or math the same way you have to learn how to relate to someone you're interested in. If it's a good goal for the school to help students be sociable, then why not teach it? You could say there's no guarantee the info will actually be absorbed and learned, but isn't that true of any class?

>>86722 knowledge school teaches is supposed to be objective, I don't think sociability lessons would be a good idea... Actually, I'd find it pretty creepy.
>>86722Uh, only "social skills" actively teached, preached and encouraged in most schools are silence and unquestioning obedience. When students start thinking it's usually managed the same as organized rebellion of inmates at psychiatric ward.Picture related.
>>86767 THERE ARE ONLY THREE LIGHTS!!Seriously, it is just this kind of weasly behavior on the part of teachers and other "authority figures" ("Iraq does so have WMDs...") that contributes to the disrespect younger people have for them. It's a weak person who simply huddles behind their position of "authority", rather than simply admitting they're human and capable of making a mistake (hardly anyone was fooling into thinking otherwise...). [Lying is a separate and more complex and unpleasant issue.]It is also a fallacy that such "teachers" think students are being "respectful" or "obedient" simply because they don't make objections in class. They just learn to let the adult yammer on and ignore them. (You end up learning more about how so-called "adults" and their institutions work than about the so-called "curriculum". I suppose that, in itself, is a "social skill"...)

>>86803Pardon me for not being fan enough to get this, but is this from Star Trek? I ask because it reminds me of the scene in 1984 where Winston Smith is tortured to say his interrogator is holding up five fingers when he's holding up four. Was that the inspiration?

>>86822 Yes, that's pretty much exactly it. Captain Picard's interregator has four lights set up behind him (with his head directly in the center) and keeps asking how many lights he sees. All he has to do is say there are five lights, and he'll be free to go, but he keeps saying there are four.

In later episodes, they reveal that even though almost everything Pinky says is a non-sequitor and just pure babble, in his mind, it actually follows logic, keen observations, and imaginative thinking. But still seems pretty dumb on the outside. And as for this thread:I would marry Osaka. But unless she initiated, no sex. I'd just want to be around her forever. I love her seemingly random thoughts.
