>>88570 Not a lesbian, just gay for Sakaki.I think that for everyone there's at least one person of the same gender that they would be totally gay for.

In the manga it was mostly admiration but in the anime it's most definatley boosted up to the point that instead of admiring Sakaki's "cool" look and wanting to be more like her it's made to look like Kaorin likes her in a more romantic way. I have always wondered why this jump between the manga and anime isin't discussed more frequently.

>>88649We usually assume people are heterosexual until proven otherwise if just because the percentage of people who aren't, especially in the media, is a very small statistical minority. It's just pattern recognition, really. As for me, you probably all already know, but I say she's not REALLY a lesbian, but has an extreme case of Idol Worship. Now, if the scene where she's riding a horse with Sakaki, if Sakaki had been in a bikini, or in any other dream had clothes been lost, I might say otherwise, but...

>>88657Not sold: women are far less visually attracted than men. If anything, the horse riding is potent symbolism, and the bikinis would be merely a distraction.

>>88660I once read a thread at a feminist blog that was supposed to be all about the "women are less visually attracted" thing and how it's a load of bull, but to be honest, I think that they just wanted an excuse to post as many pics of the male actors of Lost in various states of undress as possible.Good times, good times.
