True, but they don't usually get to eat anything but plants all year long. They only get to eat fish once a year, and they only eat meat if they are lucky and find some. And they are picky about their meat! They won't eat rotten animals. They do hunt, but not that often.

I saw that on the Discovery Channel. More than 80% of their diet is vegetable. Of course I'm talking about grisly and black American bears, because polar bears don't know what a vegetable even is.
