The production on Azumanga is finally just about done. Drawing of new art and production of the TPBs were both proceeding simultaneously, so it was harsh.
There are a number of spots I redrew for the occasion of issuing this new version. It got pretty bad, as I discovered an unexpected weakness: I blithely redrew Nyamo to give her a cooler competition-style swimsuit, then I figured, "If I'm going to fix one point, I'll have to fix all the rest."
I still haven't digitized my original art. So when I want fix up, say, an eye a little bit, I paint over it with white ink and then redraw on top of that. Then I think, "I've fixed the eye, but this mouth looks a little off," so I delete the mouth as well. I'll go on about how these contours or that hairline sucks...and soon the white ink will be everywhere. And so it went.
So, at that point, I use cutouts. I'll roughly cut out the area I want to correct, then switch in some paper I've cut into the same shape. Then, I'll draw fresh on top of that. It's still pretty much a pain to do. Guess it's about time I start digitizing the finishing touches.
Well, looks like it's summer vacation. Maybe I should attempt to update as many summer vacation special projects as possible. Sometimes I manage it, but generally I fail.

....aah, nuts, I broke the loop. Wait, is that good or bad?
