I just finished Azumanga, but I think it should have been so much longer.

With alot of SoL animes like this, I get bored of it before I finish it, but Azumanga is different. It's fun, random and I absolutely love it. I wish there was a sequel.

I guess i'll have to settle for something else now. Is there anything like Azumanga that you can recommend to me? SoL, fun, plotless and random.

>SoL animes

I wish. Or, at least riffs on Miyazaki's shit.

For fun and very random there is Hidamari Sketch. All the episodes are out of sequence and it's full of visual metaphors. There are two seasons worth of episodes and a third is expected to begin airing next year.

Pani Poni Dash. Couldn't tell you it's much like AzuDai, but I like to think of it like having the same characters, just all coked up.

That sounds awesome, I think i'll try it now.

I'm posting without a trip, my stupid computer deleted my form data, so now I don't remember it.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you. ( pic )

Thank you.

Ichigo Mashimaro seems to be popular here, and I recommend it if you like things that are very cute and not at all pedo.
But it doesn't contain much lol so random

Hidamari Sketch is awesome. I can hardly wait to see Nazuna and Nori animated and talking.

The first season of Minami-ke is lighthearted, character-based fun. I'd definitely recommend it to those who like AD (though they're not exactly the same, of course).

The second season takes a nose dive in terms of quality, but then the third season picks up again and is pretty enjoyable overall.

If "lol randum" is what you want you can't go wrong with Cromartie High School.

I haven't read the manga, but somebody said Minami-ke season one was a well-done adaptation, wile season two was "animated fanfiction".

That reminds me, I wanna read that manga.

I didn't like Pani Poni Dash because there were too many cultural references.
It was like watching an episode of Family Guy and having no idea what the jokes were referring to.

Manga/Anime I'd recommned that haven't been mentioned here: YKK, Mahoraba, Chokotto Sister.

if 'lol, random' might I suggest my personal favourites Excel Saga and Seto no Hanayome.

Then there's Galaxy Angel (the original one), Gyagu Manga Biyori, Sexy Commando, FLCL, Niea_7, Jungle wa itsumo hare nochi Guu, Astro Fighter Sunred, Yakitate Japan, Muteki Kanban Musume, Nurse Witch Komugi-chan, Trouble Chocolate and Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei.

Gosh, now I feel old...

The dudes from Cromartie High are destined to marry the chicks from Azumanga. They would pair off as such:

Tomo/Kamiyama
Yomi/Hiyashida
Sakaki/Freddie
Osaka/Takenouchi
Chihiro/Hokuto's Lackey
Chiyo/Mechazawa

I have given this matter great thought

  No.203766   Report

I truly believe that the boys of Cromartie are the only males conceptually worthy of the Azu crew. Just your standard "anime/manga nice guy" won't do.

>Osaka - Takanouchi

DO NOT WANT

  No.203800   Report

Well, while we're still on this subject...

Sakaki + Freddie = DO NOT WANT

I'm not just saying that, either. And how come Kagura doesn't have anyone?

  No.203801   Report

>>203799

No no, there is some very solid logic behind that pairing: You see, Osaka is the one most likely to get Takenouchi involved in situations which would trigger his motion sickness.

Just imagine them going on a date at the fun fair and Osaka insisting they ride the spinning teacups over and over and over again.

  No.203802   Report

Someone recommended Sasameki Koto in another thread.

Not quite the Azumanga level of zaniness, but some of the similarities in personalities of the girls is almost surreal.

You will have to deal with girl-love and an actually healthy amount of fanservice. I personally am enjoying it.

  No.203805   Report

Well, I just started reading Great Teacher Onizuka and Genshikan (As well as the afore-mentioned Hidamari Sketch) and they seem pretty chill thus far...Though GTO is a little more over-the-top than your average SoL

  No.203806   Report

>>203805

Onizuka is great, but it gets repetative after a while.

The first ToHeart anime is very much "slice of life"

  No.203823   Report

Kodomo no Omocha and Mahoujin Guru-Guru.

It's official. I'm old.

  No.203865   Report

>>203802 Words can't describe how much win there is in Sasameki Koto.

Hyakko is the closest series to Azu I've seen so far, and of course, it's awesome.
