I've had this Azuma-drawn comic in my random folder for a while now, and I was hoping to learn more about it. Does anyone here have any knowledge for my search?

Really? Isn't it that other comic, the predecessor to Yotsuba?

Before Azumanga came out, Azuma did a number of strips to be included with the DVDs of Pioneer shows like Tenchi Muyo, Pretty Sammy and Battle Athletes.

It still blows my mind that Yotsuba was actually conceived before Azumanga.

Seconded; I too was taken by surprise when I learned of the existence of Try! Try! Try! and subsequently of the fact that Yotsuba Koiwai, as a character, was older than the girls of Azumanga Daioh!

On a similar tangent, before I learned of the existence of Try! Try! Try!, I always thought that Yotsuba was a composite expy of characters from Azumanga Daioh, specifically Chiyo's cheerful, positive demeanor and (retooled) appearance, Tomo's genki girly-ness, and Osaka's absent-mindedness.

Hey, I never saw that before, is it from Azumanga Recycle perhaps? (I don't have that book)

I did a quick Google but found this instead (source: http://blog-soth.blogspot.com/2010/02/to-heart-merchandise.html )

To be honest, I'm starting to think it is a fanmade comic using a copycat-style, since none of you seem to know any new information...

Didn't Sprocket already explain what it was?

It's from the book Vision found - here's the original page. I don't know who translated it or how good it is.

Yeah, I know - I filled up my hard drive again :(

Don't you have Azumanga Recycle? I have it backed up somewhere and I can re-upload it if you want.

Thanks, but I realized I never really looked for it, so I was able to find a download for myself. The untranslated version, that is (I do have several separate pages that were translated and have been posted here before).
But cheers for the offer.
