UPS delivered my copy from Amazon.com today. Really nice job from Yen Press again. 2 things; in ch.50 they have Yotsuba calling Asagi "An ugly old hag"(opposites) which I found funny in its harshness, and they mentioned in the margin notes that the series takes place in the town of Emaimachi. Does anyone know if this is a real city? I couldn't find anything using Google.

There's an Emmachi station in Nakagyo, Kyoto. Closest I could find.

What's the street date for number 8?

The first several hits google searching for the town's name using kanji (咲容町) are mainly related to Yotsuba.
Considering the kanji literally mean "Smile Face Town" I'm going to guess it's not an actual place.

April 30th. But both Amazon and Barnes And Noble.com list it as "in stock".

Umm... yeah... <eye darts> It's, uh, not far from Springfield...

I was so happy when I saw it in my mail today. Then I saw the translator's name.... :(

It isn't a real city, but I believe Azuma or some of his staff scouted areas in Yamaguchi or some shit. Some panels were based on actual locations. Someone posted comparison pictures here a while back.

Oh, it's a real place all right. It's located...in my heart.

Speaking of translations, can anyone tell me what "Iru Iranai" means?

How was it used? Iru/Iranai could have more than one meaning, but offhand I would say it's someone weighing options of whether they want something or not. Iru is the verb for to want/need, and iranai is the negative form.

It's repeated over and over in this song that I've had stuck in my head lately. I got curious about what it meant.

Hard to say for sure, but I'm going to stick with my original guess.
