ITT: Songs you can imagine used for Yotsuba.

If Yots would ever become an anime series, I'd want to see this as the ED theme:

Really brings out the atmosphere of the series.

It doesn't have a recorder in it, so it wins.

Yotsuba would be best served by some Raymond Scott.

Recorders are a wretched abomination of the Devil.

Suffice to say, I dislike Kuricorder Pops Orchestra.

The English dub's theme song should be done by They Might Be Giants:

"Yotsuba-chan, Yotsuba-chan
Doing the things that Yotsuba can
Where's she from? It's not important
Yotsuba-chan."

...etc. Maybe with a recorder instead of an accordion.

Their career has slumped enough to where I can see them do that.

Yeah, their career has slumped sooooooo bad since they won that second Grammy in 2009.

... Why do trolls delude themselves that their activities are so witty??

A Grammy for what? A fucking Best Musical Album for Children. Wow! Feet don't fail them now!
Factory Showroom was their last album that they gave a shit. I don't know which John calls the shots, but they're phoning it in, now, sorry to break this to you 10 years later.

How do I know you're the one trolling for a shitty band?

  No.208288   Report

I've got to admit, I'm a little surprised that my mention of TMBG started such a heated argument; I figured at most it would lead to Chileanon or someone else posting more parody lyrics. Who'd have thought that band would inspire such anger?

I gotta say that the song Science is Real is pretty surprising kid's stuff. Includes the lyrics:

"I like the stories
About angels, unicorns and elves
Now I like those stories
As much as anybody else
But when I'm seeking knowledge
Either simple or abstract
The facts are with science"

Next verse has a simplified explanation of scientific theory. Not saying that you have to like them anymore or anything, but I don't think they can be dinged for effort on this album.

I probably would have the inclination to do so, but I really don't know much about TMBG.
Maybe I should check them out.

Now this is not a song I think could be used for a Yotsubato anime, but pay attention to the lyrics and tell me it isn't perfect for Koiwai to sing to Yotsuba: http://tinyurl.com/3y6qydm

^"Maybe I should-" nah!

Ignore the video (unless you like old PC games), but this song is perfect for an ED song - no middle age men half-naked singing, promise!

A fun, bittersweet tune, "About A Girl". Funny, it's one of those free commerce songs on YouTube, but you have to pay on the site where it was created? Hmm...

You're better off reading neither. Especially that awful Drifting Classroom cornball idiocy. At least Four Leaf Lover is genuinely terrifying (he's not trying for that, though), and not shitty cliched melodrama like Drifting Classroom. It was all a dream my ass. MY ASS.

Wasn't there an azunonymous here who said doujinshi would always be better than fanfiction when it came to manga, since manga is a visual medium? He's an idiot.

...yeah, I guess I'm traumatized.

>It was all a dream my ass.

But without a Nishi character (and with Tomo as the sole survivor) it wouldn't make sense for them to either get home or survive the wasteland. IMO, it was better than just ending it on a low note.
Also, I liked the use of Chiyo as a subtle surrogate Yu, and that despite the absurd premise Azuma chose to leave out the total narm monster bits.
Taking all the hentai out of it only invalidates a single bad joke in the entire short, so I tend to give a "clean" version to just about everyone familiar with the series.

  No.208474   Report

Didn't understand a lot of that. Nishi? Yu?

Also, this is considered something Azuma wrote? What's the proof in that?

>Nishi? Yu?

...You havn't read the original Drifting Classroom, have you? I put this right up with Katzeh's Cendrillon as a doujin that is both an interesting derivative work and a legitimate tribute to a classic.

>Also, this is considered something Azuma wrote?

Azuma Takeshi, not Kiyohiko Azuma.

Nope, didn't even know there was one.

Thanks for the clarification about Azuma, btw.
