I Went Flying
Yotsubato will be absent this month due to research.
I rode in a hot air balloon. I flew.
At first, when I was in the sky and looked down to see, naturally, nothing beneath my feet, my thought was "Yikes!" but I got used to it pretty quickly.
Balloons may float around on the breeze, but as for the people who ride them through the sky, they are unflappable.
Actually, it was a pretty calm flight.
It was only at moments when the wind changed direction that it really felt like I was taking a ride, and I would think "Oh, right."
On the way home, I made a long overdue stop at Ueda Castle from Summer Wars.
There were lots of wooden plaques of the Warring States period.
I wonder why there weren't any that showed the castle very well though.
The way the displays were set up, panels with descriptions written on them, made it seem like a cultural festival.
The explanations were fine, but I would have liked to have been made to feel the history more.
I wonder if they couldn't have made the fire extinguishers and security alarms less conspicuous...
