19987 No.209243     Report

So, I'm quitting internet for a while due to the fact that in exactly 24 hours I'll be 30 and I'm totally depressed. Maybe it's the crisis talking, but I'm all "I have to recover the control of my life" and nonsense like that. So I'll be reading much less manga and watching much less anime, and playing games only on the weekends, and basically I'll give normality a shot.

So what I wanted to say is this: I'll miss you, guys. I really will.

  No.209244   Report

Wherever life's journey takes you, know that you're always welcome here.

  No.209245   Report

But who will I have to talk to about Chika?

  No.209246   Report

>>209244
Thanks. That actually means a lot and it's beautiful.
>>209245
Actually, maybe that's better. All that talk about Chi-chan and similar conversations made it easier for that self-righteous anti-pedo troll to get on the soapbox.
And to that guy, I say this: Just to be clear, when I said all those things about Chi-chan and Miura and Ena I was being as serious as I was when I said I wanted to marry the sexy vuvuzela. Although, it was a nice vuvuzela... I mean, you don't have to be vuvusexual to find that one attractive...

So yeah, I'm not sleeping tonight. I'm too tense to sleep. I'll go to all the imageboards and forums I usually visit because after tonight I'm using the internets to check my e-mail and nothing else. This is not the only place I visit (in some Spanish video game forums I'm actually extremely active), but it is the only place I felt the need to say good bye on. Isn't that weird?

  No.209249   Report

It may be sad, but /azu/ is one of the only joys I have in life. I don't think I'd ever be able to say goodbye.

I hope you'll decide to drop by again some time in the future.

  No.209250   Report

>>209249
Well, this place is hard to say good bye to. Even the trolls are kinda neat.
Internet has become a real addiction to me. An addiction under the clinical definition of the word.
And, like all addictions, you fool yourself after quitting and you make an excuse and you go back to your old habits, so I have a favour to ask. Ralen, if it doesn't go against any rule, could you B& me in about 6 or 7 hours?

Otherwise I'll be saying something like "I'll just go see if the new Yotsuba chapter is out! Oh, it isn't? Well, while I wait, and since I'm here, I'll check this and that... And now Yotsuba is out, so maybe if I wait it'll be translated..." and so on...

  No.209252   Report

>>209250
It's like you're asking me to shoot Old Yeller...

All I'm really familiar with is deleting posts/images. I think I can figure out how to ban you though.
I'm just not sure if I know how to unban you (I don't really like the idea of banishing you for eternity).

I wonder if they expire after a set time?
Anyway, I guess I can try and do it tomorrow if you really want. I know what you mean about not having the temptation there.

  No.209255   Report

Are you growing up? Growing out of this place?!

Well, they say a habit is kicked in three months or so. If the ban expires and you still need it, you could always ask for another.

Good luck out there!

  No.209256   Report

>>209255

>they say a habit is kicked in three months or so

I read that as "a hobbit" instead of "a habit". I smiled a bit...

>Good luck out there!

Thanks.
>>209252

>I guess I can try and do it tomorrow if you really want

Well, of course I don't want to. Sometimes, the things we need and the things we want are totally in conflict...

And I wanna say something else. Again, this is most likely the ridiculous Midlife Crisis thingie talking, but I'm quitting one of my jobs, so I'll have three-day weekends every week plus about 3 extra hours every day, and I'll use them productively on many things I kept wishing I had time for. One of them is drawing.
I used to draw a lot and I wasn't half bad, but I had to quit soon after enrolling in college. Well, I do plan on coming back here, and I guess I'll buy a fancy scanner and a copy of photoshop and other materials, and I'll be doing less gaming and more art. So when I'm back here I'll probably be in conditions of delivering fanart. I wanted to do this long ago.
I'm glad I don't have a lot of money saved. I'll be getting a scanner tomorrow, but if I had lots of cash I'd probably buy a Ferrari or whatever pathetic and sad thing depressed 30 year olds drive...

  No.209258   Report

>>209256
I drive a Honda.

Also, good luck with your drawing practice. I hope you get your life in the order you want it in. You're a voice on this site, and one way or another, you'll be missed.

Hope to see those fanarts in the future.

  No.209260   Report

I respect that, Chileanon. I've been here for as long as you have (5 years, right?) and I'm past addiction. You're a stronger azuphile than I, and if it's to get your shit together, then more power to you, my chocolate brotha'.
Actually, I plan on doing the same thing someday. Maybe even sell off all my Azu/Yots stuff when the time comes, and really, really, try to get a direction in my life, too.

Ralen (and I guess Chileanon), there's a board at iichan that has "unban" requests. You can save his IP or whatever if you're even able to ban whole people, but they can request to be unbanned if when they go there. I think they check often enough. Or, if they're really desperate, ask someone from /shimauu/ to ask here.

I think so... Wow, time flies!

>Maybe even sell off all my Azu/Yots stuff

Really? Wow. You are stronger than you think for even considering that.

>my chocolate brotha'

lol, chocolate? Brotha', yes, chocolate, sorry, but no.I'm embarrassingly white. Maybe I won't be next year.

OK, now this is the last post for at least a year.
Thanks to you all for being awesome. I'll miss you all like totally for reals.
Byee, and look at Osaka, for ever!
Woah! freaky!

  No.209264   Report

Probably too late for you to see this, but just in case: Good luck, and I hope to see you back here when you feel up to it. I especially hope to see some of your fanart one day.

And life past the age of 30 really isn't so bad. But I respect your decision to do things differently from now on, and that includes saying 'no' to yourself. Which I know from experience, isn't easy.

>vuvusexual

I'm probably not making this easier, but this is the kind of thing I'll miss you for.

We'd be happy to help out. Just don't turn up in three weeks time, looking for an unban.

Or do, y'know. We'll try to dispel the temptation.

Farewell comrade Chileanon. I shall miss all of the fun threads we had together. Good luck in all your future endeavors and please, remember us azunymousi as we will remeber you.

Bah! Humbug! Just like you can't choose to become an otaku, you can't choose to leave it... he'll be back...

I kinda sorta know how he's feeling, though. I'm not far from 30 myself, and whatever will become of this life, I mean, really. I guess there is some more to it somewhere.

CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAP, HE'S GONE? I go out of the internet for a couple of weeks, and Chileanon is gone?
Well, I can't say I understand him completely (I turned 30 last year, and I'm not particularly depressed or anything), but still, I respect his position.
Where was he from, specifically?

  No.209762   Report

man, I was all set to hurriedly reassure you guys that even though I've been busy lately, I haven't forgotten about this place and I'm not going anywhere.

Then I realized you guys have no idea who I am and no reason to care whether I live or die.

Sort of a downer to realize that.

Looks like it's time to start namefagging it up.

Also, it occurred to me a while ago that I'm not certain banning prevents you from visiting the site, it may just prevent you from posting.
So banning Chileanon may not have had the desired effect.

If it's like the other chans (4,7,12), and the server is apache with .htaccess configured properly, then you can't even read the site beyond the index.

sage because it isn't worth bumping for this
