They're intelligent in ways even the best marine biologists have yet to fathom. Pic related (somewhat). But here's something for Osaka to ponder: It's been discovered that Octopodes (to use the correct plural term; not 'Octopuses' or 'Octopi'/-pae) have just six arms. In long-term observations, biologists have found that, whilst they are very tactile with objects, and even possess problem solving abilities (almost like chimpanzees) they assign **six* specific limbs for this purpose, whereas just two in particular are used in locomotion on the seabed.
So this reinforces the unanswered question: 'If an octopus has eight limbs, why are they called *Ten*tacles?' (indeed, these facts destroys the use of this word, in describing octopus limbs).
Even Cthulhu can go ftaghn himself.
