That's what I mean, he's obviously anti-Holland biased.
We've got someone else on our side, though.

Paul is apparently better at deciding things than FIFA refs. He chose the winner. Chiyo-Dad will have to eat your soul now.

Just returning here to admit defeat.

I'll never doubt the Oracletopus again.

  No.209764   Report

I was just watching Samurai Champloo again the other day, perhaps the only anime with Hollanders and Spainards. Of course, the Spanish guy was fake, but still, tall blond gay vs. boggle-eyed Jesuit for the final.

They're intelligent in ways even the best marine biologists have yet to fathom. Pic related (somewhat). But here's something for Osaka to ponder: It's been discovered that Octopodes (to use the correct plural term; not 'Octopuses' or 'Octopi'/-pae) have just six arms. In long-term observations, biologists have found that, whilst they are very tactile with objects, and even possess problem solving abilities (almost like chimpanzees) they assign **six* specific limbs for this purpose, whereas just two in particular are used in locomotion on the seabed.

So this reinforces the unanswered question: 'If an octopus has eight limbs, why are they called *Ten*tacles?' (indeed, these facts destroys the use of this word, in describing octopus limbs).

Even Cthulhu can go ftaghn himself.

You've just reminded me of the miniseries adaptation (with Richard Chamberlain) of James Clavell's classic novel "Shogun". Thanks for the nostalgia bomb.

Octopodes are already cute as-is, but count on Japan to turn Paul into a moe-moe octopus.

  No.209787   Report

groan I finally got the joke--Osaka really did say "atashi orenji" in that scene. If only the World Cup involved melon bread and flour-dunking, Holland would have gone home in triumph.

I know she said that in the scene where she drifted away, but I guess I don't get the joke here.

Orange. It's a fruit and a color.
Of course, if you have to explain a joke, it isn't funny. But don't worry, it wasn't funny to begin with.

I think what Ralen isn't getting here is that Holland are famous for playing in bright orange, as Vision's images show.

Osaka's just showing her support for the Dutch. "Atashi Orenje!"

Whoops, missed that you didn't get it, but yeah, saying 'Go Orange' is in this case another way of saying 'Go Holland'.

You don't catch it, you're born with it. My dad clearly has an autism spectrum disorder (albeit not a severe one). I have it slightly but not to a very noticeable degree anymore--it was way worse when I was a kid, so bad people thought I was retarded. Now I'm just a shy-but-funny guy.
