Tomo's level of natural competitiveness combined with actual comptetence would probably propel her to greatness and accomplishment.

Annoying, insufferable greatness and accomplishment.

That said, when not lording herself over others and being annoying, she'd probably be very engaging, magnetic, and leave a trail of heartbroken men in her path.

Uh, I think it would be pretty easy to understand why she got hired if she really did excel at academics, as OP is suggesting.
