I watched the episode, but I didn't see the connection to Yotsuba& and felt that it had a tenuous similarity at best to Azumanga Daioh

In my opinion, an anime can only be said to be similar to Azumanga Daioh if it visibly borrows from its cast interaction patterns, which this show currently lacks; its principal characters are not as numerous or as tightly integrated at this point in time

The art is similar but the characters have their own personalities. Despite the name the focus is less on ordinary life and more on absurdity. Like Azumanga+Dr. Slump maybe?

After watching the second episode I couldn't disagree more. Although I'll admit that Azumanga was more coherent in that the scenes were connected by an invisible thread. Nichijo kind of fallows Luck☆Star's route of flow. But it still tugs onto the characterization of Azumanga, imo. It just feels so familiar.
At least people are stopping comparing it to Cromartie High.

Bandai finally scooped this one up. It is going to be dubbed, and the manga is being released too.

I'm not a subfag, I'm glad it got picked up, but good fucking luck getting an English voice actor that will come even half as close to nailing any any of the characters Nichijou has that the Japanese actors touched.
