I never understood the point in going to Comiket. Maybe a decade ago, but now with internet you can dl doujin or buy a copy on Yahoo Auctions.
All I hear about from those that go is that the lines are endless and the weather is always humid as an asshole.

But also, a ridiculously small percentage of the doujins at Comiket actually end up on something like Share. How many of them are actually worth reading is another matter though...

The way I see, if it's worth reading/fapping it's worth the trouble to upload it, thus, what we get. I've thumbed through more doujin than I care to know and none are worth a second look in terms of quality or lewdity.

Hell, most of what I come across on exhentai is not worth more than a couple strokes, if that.

I've been to conventions, namely anime ones, and I get the idea of "being there." Mingling with fellow fans (halfway decent ones or otherwise) is always interesting.
It's just the impression I get for Comiket in particular is that there really nothing but lines, and perhaps a chance to shake hands with your favorite doujin artist for a few milliseconds.
There's cosplay, but you can see that online, too.

I had a couple chances to go last year, but trying to rationalize it in my head, it just doesn't add up in my favor. Different strokes, I guess.
