what their age different then? She is.... 7 right? and he's 20? 21? 22?

Let say he's 22 now. When Yotsuba entered high school she will be 15 and he will be 30. If this shipping started when she's in high school he need to wait until she graduate high school. I'm not sure about Koiwai's financial stability. He able to own a house but does he have enough money to send Yotsuba to college? Or does Yotsuba want to go to college afterward? I know Japanese are able to find decent job after graduating high school. Or get married after graduating as well. So in the end she will be 18 and he's 33.

Could work. Probably.
