Hello world, as they say!
I tried to set up a new (imageboard-based) home for /azu/ after it died, mostly as a test. We'll see if this gets used or not.
I'm trying to get ahold of archives of the old site now. I don't think I can import them here but I could host them statically (read-only). Let's hope it's successful.

Testing out some emotes!

 No.21

I've been able to restore 14 banners from the previous /azu/ iterations.
Which, for reference, were:
>1. www.chiyochan.net/azu/ (2006–2008)
>2. www.wakachan.org/azu/ (2009–2015)
>3. ib.axypb.net/azu/ (2016–2023)

 No.22

1120 threads posted between 2005–15, a few hundred full-sized images, and a few thousand thumbnails, are now all backed up & browsable here: https://azu.nfshost.com/archive/
There's now a link to this /archive/ "board" at the top and bottom of index pages too. More coming soon!

The domain was set to expire soon, plus the webmaster had been absent for multiple years before that, but it got raided/spammed by another board and the webhost shut it down in March. Many people moved to Ralen's Discord server around then, which was set up as a backup in case the board ever went down.

I never enabled it. I guess the link in the footer still showed up by default, though...
Fixed, should be working now.

Is there a discord?

There's Ralen's one, yeah. It was meant as a backup if the old board ever went down. You can find the link on the Yotsuba subreddit pinned post.

The emotes are a fun touch.

Thanks! I took them from the "guestbook" page of an old Japanese Yotsuba&!-focused website and cleaned them up a bit. Feel free to suggest other (low-key) features or additions.

The verification has been changed to hCaptcha in effort to curb some of the automated spam. Some new known-malicious IP blocklists have been loaded in too.
Eventually I'd like to replace this with a QuestyCaptcha (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:QuestyCaptcha) which should make things a lot easier and won't be relying on a third-party solution either... would just have to create the implementation myself first.

I got told site ownership changed recently, who owns this website now?

 No.726

The Green Party, the Russian mafia, and NAMbLA.

Me. :^)
I guess technically it changed ownership, sure, but more like it's just a different site built from the ground-up after the old one went down due to domain expiry & bot spam. But I wanted to (try to) retain some sort of community here in an imageboard format which I much prefer to a Discord server. Unfortunately 99% of posts from the old site weren't able to get backed up in any capacity (previous iterations/domains before that though are available).

>>745
Oh I thought THIS site changed ownership and you had stepped down, nevermind then :D
