So what's the problem with the new chapters? The Jap police is actively monitoring Share and the other P2P and people are lying low because of that and not sharing?

There just haven't been any since the June issue (April).

I can see various other series from Dengeki's July issue (May) on Share, but there was no new Yotsuba that month.

Although now that you mention it, I don't see anything at all from the August issue (June) on Share. But according to Dengeki's website there was still no new Yotsuba that month either.

Nice Nobue cosplay by the way.

The August issue was really terrible. Let alone Y&! or IM, there wasn't even any Railgun. It was just a thousand pages of garbage, and then Naoko-san.

This is a misappropriation of the board, but can anyone tell me what is written in the bubble to the left, in particular the bit after 邪?

That second character is shorthand for 魔 (making the whole word 邪魔: jama - inconvenience; hindrance).

The entire sentence would be something along the lines of "If it's not an inconvenience."

That looks just like a regular flower.
Danbo's stamp was flower-shaped, but it also had text in it.
These stamps are common in elementary level grading. There are different levels like "You did a great job", "You did well," "Average," "Please try a little harder," etc.

> I can't say for sure whether he's abusing prescription drugs or not

so you just said that >>225065 wasn't true because thats what you want to be the case?
thats not how reality works. the fact is that sobriety and the arts community are not close friends and writers are particularly prone the falling into uncontrolled, shameful, self-reenforcing situations like being a drug addicted hikikomori.
takimoto tatsuhiko (welcome to the NHK) is a probably the best known case like this, but he is by no means unique and this isn't a new phenomenon or a japanese one. lewis carroll and samuel coleridge were both similarly incapacitated by drugs and/or social anxiety while being productive members of the arts community.
the ideas that "doing drugs is bad" or "being a hiki is bad" are concepts which many people believe in, but are both blatantly false. they're certainly not conducive to productivity, but they don't preclude it either and when one encounter a formerly productive author who's output seems to have dropped off then you have to assume that something is hindering that artist's ability to work.
drugs are probably a pretty good guess.

first time I hear "Lewis Carroll" had a drug problem. Yes, he did have an anxiety problem because he was a stutter but I have never heard of the drugs.
Then again, all you have do is look and Alice is filed with drug references: Alice eating mushrooms, drinking stuff and changing size, talking caterpillars smoking hookas, etc, etc.
Can you present some proof "Lewis Carroll" was a drug user please? Quite interesting subject.

Did you personally see him molest a child? Then you are just speculating. And it doesn't really matter if he was or wasn't. All that matters is he wrote brilliant books that can still be enjoyed by both children AND adults. I still love them and as a child I thought they were amazingly amusing.

Yes, and so does mine. It's an actual Unicode character, so just copy it into a text editor and kick it up to 144pt.

I'm crazy confused why after ten years the -chan software doesn't allow for TEXT FORMATTING of any kind. I mean, italic, bold, SOMETHING.

  No.225091   Report

Right, that's what I'm saying is that the unicode character just looks like a plain flower (as opposed to one with text in it) and the shape of the petals is slightly different from the stamp as well.

The image board does allow italics and bold (and strikethrough).

Actually, the pedo thing is quite well documented. He was quite a prolific photographer, and many of his photographs survive today. The majority of them are child nudes.

Of course I agree with that has nothing to do with whether or not his books are enjoyable or not--one has nothing to do with the other.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that during Lewis Carroll's time it was actually not uncommon to take nude photographs of children. It supposedly didn't have the same negative sexual connotation it has today.

Kind of like how it used to not be unusual for men to hold hands or sleep in the same bed, because the stigma of "Ew, that's gay" didn't yet exist.

Again, this is something I read on the internet, so take it for what it's worth.

  No.225102   Report

>>225097
gotcha. There is the proof you know nothing and pardon my French but you are talking out of your bunghole. In short, you should NOT have opened your mouth. There are NO surviving nude photos because they were ALL destroyed by a friend except for only 2 that survive to today and were painted over. It's a FACT, not your fantasies about pedos. It's an easily checked fact. 99.99% are clothed children and they are quite beautiful as a matter of fact. The real Alice was really cute for example. A challenge: Show us the nude photos he took. You can't cuz there arent any. Sorry, you lose.
Second, taking photos of nude children doesnt one make a pedo. Was Mapplethorpe a pedo too then? IS Sally Mann a pedo? That guy(forgot his name) who took photos of girls and the US gov tried to ruin him so the children themselves came to his defense? All the hundreds of thousand of naturalists who routinely take photos of their children, that makes then pedos?
You are projecting your own imaginary sicko fantasies onto others, in short, you are full of you know what.

Anyone here remember a few years ago when Azuma made a long, angry post on his blog about how the police pulled him over when he was driving?
He was saying bullshit like "why can't they catch real criminals, they're bothering me when there are unsolved murders" and other such common bullshit you get from people with a sense of entitlement and from people with delusions of grandeur (sometimes these are drug induced delusions).

It was at this time that he had been busted for driving under the influence and he actually did a few weeks in jail as a result and had his driving privileges rescinded. He is lucky the police stopped him, if he had actually hurt someone his career would have been over. Nobody wants to buy stories from an asshole like that.

Woah, chill out dude. All I said was that he took a large number of nude photos of children. I didn't say that made him a pedo, and I didn't say there was anything wrong with it either. I think you're reading more into what I wrote than I actually did. I have nothing against him. I simply stated that he took nude photos of children; I'm not drawing any further conclusions than that.

Anyway, since you wanted a source for his photos. There are more than a thousand documented here:

I don't know whether Carroll was a pedo either, but if he was, this board is a strange place for that to be considered offensive.

  No.225117   Report

>>225115

Indeed.

I think the real truth is that we simply don't know, and probably never will. Alas the debate will go on forever. On the one hand you've got fans of Lewis Carrol's literature who somehow get offended if you suggest that Carrol might have been a pedo. God forbid their beloved author wasn't perfect! You end up with a knee-jerk reaction: Of course he wasn't! How could you even suggest that, etc. This doesn't make any sense to me because even if he was a pedo (which we don't know) it has no bearing on his literature at all. It's still great, pedo or not.

On the other hand you've got people who think that just because he took photos of children then he must be a pedo, which is just as silly as the above.

Bottom line: we don't know one way or the other, and even if we did, why would it matter?

Again, I know you're not completely serious, but there are a couple of photos of Azuma out there. And I think he said the cop that pulled him over asked what he did for a living; when he said he was a mangaka, the cop asked whether he drew anything the cop had heard of, and he said no, instead of something like "Oh, just a little thing called Azumanga Daioh" (although that still may not have done him any good).

  No.225122   Report

Azuma should have said he wrote Do Your Best! or any of the Sailor Moon doujin. Would have had a better chance of the cop recognizing him and got off without a ticket and 6oz of weed.
